Bus Accident Kills 10

As reported by San Francisco’s ABC News affiliate and other outlets, a collision involving a bus and a FedEx truck has resulted in the death of 10 individuals including at least 8 students from Los Angeles.

The bus was carrying protective students from Los Angeles to Humboldt State University in northern California. A FedEx vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction when it crossed the center line and over the median striking the bus.

According to witnesses, the bus burst into flames immediately after the impact. The sound of the collision could reportedly be heard for a considerable distance and the flames were extremely intense.

Dozens of individuals sustained serious personal injuries and at least one was airlifted to UC Davis Hospital.

Why the FedEx vehicle crossed the median is under investigation. The names of the injury victims have not been released.
