images-3According to the WSJ’s Law Blog and the San Antonio Express-News, Akin Gump was hit yesterday with a Texas-size verdict of $72.6 million in a malpractice case in San Antonio federal court.

Air Measurement Technologies Inc., a Texas company, claimed that Akin Gump bungled the company’s patent applications for a safety device.  The device was designed to alert fire fighters to the amount of time that they can safely remain in a fire.
